How to Enjoy Delicious Food during Diwali Without Worrying About Indigestion

Diwali is a time for gatherings, card games, and overindulging in food. The fatty, high-calorie diet may frequently cause gas, bloating, and digestive problems like indigestion and acidity. Bloating occurs as a result of the buildup of fluids or gases in the body. Bloating can be caused by poor nutrition, indigestion, sleep deprivation, dehydration, excessive alcohol consumption, or junk food. However, enjoy mouthwatering foods while paying attention to mindful eating and portion proportions rather than being afraid of them.

Here are a few clever ways to enjoy your favourite foods during Diwali without having to worry about bloating and gas.

Hydration

It’s crucial to stay hydrated in order to remove toxins from your body and maintain a healthy digestive system. Additionally, this will avoid bloating. Drink a lot of fluids all day long. Add a few drops of lemon and ginger to some lukewarm water before drinking.

Nuts

Purchase plenty of sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, raisins, cashews, pistachios, dried apricots, and almonds. These nuts can be consumed on an empty stomach, added to meals for flavour, or blended into a smoothie.

Fruits

Consume a lot of fruits—at least two fruits every day—to flush the body of toxins and make up for the lack of nourishment in your diet. The fruits can be combined to create juices or other beverages or a fruit salad.

Conscious eating

While you can enjoy all the deliciously prepared, high-calorie meals, it’s important to remember to eat mindfully. You enjoy the festive cuisine and keep your intake in check, make sure to eat little and often. Even while eating sweets, choose to limit yourself to one sweet or one plate of dessert rather than bingeing on all of them.

Anti-bloating beverage

Some plants and spices have diuretic qualities. Among them are the seeds of coriander. To remove toxins and extra water from the body, make a coriander seed beverage. Just some jeera, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, and ajwain are required. Drink it throughout the day after soaking it all night.

Exercise

Start with easy workouts like walking in the morning or after a substantial meal. Yoga is another option you have to improve digestion and combat festival weariness.

An Indian festival is a time when people eat a lot of Indian traditional food in addition to marking a special occasion. India is a nation with a rich history and culture. Every month, there is at least one reason to celebrate. But people are neglecting their health throughout this festive season.

What you should know about the causes, signs, and treatments of bloating in the stomach

Bloating affects a large number of people, and due to our poor eating habits, the number rises during festivals. Nobody wants to have an overstuffed stomach, but that doesn’t mean you can’t eat what you want guilt-free.

Here are a few strategies to help you minimise bloating while still enjoying your favourite foods guilt-free.

Balance:

During festivals, we consume a lot of sweets and appetisers. So, limit your intake of other typical foods.

Drink at least 3 litres of water each day to stay hydrated. It maintains your hydration and curbs unneeded food cravings.

Avoid refined sugar:

Sweets are a necessary part of celebrations. Find a sweet alternative to refined sugar. In place of refined sugar, use honey or jaggery for making desserts. Both the flavour and the health will be preserved.

Use whole spices:

Instead of using normal spices in festival meals, use whole spices. The correct amount of whole spices tend to aid metabolism.

Move your body:

To prevent a bloated stomach, engage in some sort of physical activity like walking, cycling, or yoga.

Fruits should be consumed; whenever possible, add fresh fruit to desserts like rabdi or basundi. It will improve nutrition and flavour.

Avoid overeating:

Because it can make your stomach feel unpleasant. You will experience hunger more quickly if you overrate at your last meal, especially before a fast. So, before fasting, consume smaller meals throughout the day.

Replace maida:

Whole wheat flour or multigrain flour can be used in lieu of maida (refined flour) to make desserts and snacks healthier.
