How do chanting and meditation, with over 20 years of experience, help you manage stress?
I’ve been practicing Buddhism as a way of life for more than ten years, and as part of that, I chant for an hour every day. Chanting helps me to focus and serves as a power boost to start the day.
Do you have a particular approach or discipline you adhere to every day or every week?
The Nichiren Buddhism philosophy, which is centered on prayer and action, includes chanting. It is a very practical way of life philosophy. The universal rule of cause and effect, sometimes known as “Karma,” is a key component of this philosophy.
The first step is chanting; it has really aided me in my professional development and in helping me make decisions based on the confidence and knowledge that come from this practice.
It offers a step-by-step manual on fundamental management concepts, teamwork, and developing a work environment that values positivity, tenacity, and excellence.
You engage in yoga as well. Do you have a particular form that you use? What have you learned so far?
I engage in Hatha Yoga, which includes sun salutations, different yoga kriyas, and pranayama. For eight years, I have thoroughly loved using yoga as a kind of fitness.
I do it around three times per week. It keeps me limber, athletic, and energized all day long. It is an excellent tool for healing; many of the kriyas and the use of pranayama methods assist me in preserving the body’s hormonal balance and boosting immunity.
Why do you believe that everyone should engage in meditative practices or other mind-calming activities?
We all need to practice chanting or meditation to take a break from our daily schedules, stand back, and concentrate on solitude and introspection.
It supports mental clarity, boosts optimism and self-belief, and gives us the determination to work hard to reach our full potential.
Any important lessons you’ve learned about incorporating yoga, meditation, or swimming into your leadership style?
Daily chanting, combined with yoga or swimming for exercise, offers each day an extra boost. It establishes a routine and discipline in life that promotes both mental and physical health.
Additionally, it develops a meaningful equilibrium that bolsters the mind’s ability to handle challenging circumstances with grit and drive.
Chanting and medication enable me to take complete control and responsibility even in the most difficult circumstances by fostering perspective and patience.
As a leader, it gives you the emotional fortitude, bravery, and resilience you need to analyze your options, rationalize your choices, take a stand, and create a caring work atmosphere without sacrificing productivity and outcomes.
