How do kettlebells work?

According to Rachit Dua, senior fitness expert at Team Aminder and co-founder of Fitpathshala, kettlebells are made of cast iron or cast steel balls with a grip attached to the top and are used to do dynamic strength and endurance exercises.

How does it help?

Varun Rattan, the co-founder of The Body Science Academy in Noida, claims that kettlebell training mixes aerobic and strength training.

“Swinging the kettlebell increases heart rate, which makes it a great cardiovascular exercise. Exercises like swings can maximize cardiovascular benefits while putting the least amount of strain on the joints. Power can also be acquired through powerful movements like snatches. Your entire body is worked during kettlebell exercises, Rattan told indianexpress.com.

In addition to developing forearms and grip strength, Rattan noted that kettlebells have a thicker grip than barbells and dumbbells and are therefore more convenient to store in a corner due to their small size.

“They are appropriate for training indoors, outdoors, at a gym, or even at home. If the proper weight and form are used, using this equipment is safe for healthy individuals, he said.
