Hindus will refrain from consuming ordinary cuisine for these nine days.

Hindus will fast for nine days and participate in a variety of religious rituals during this time. During the nine days of Navratri, other foods will be consumed rather than the usual wheat and salt.

Kuttu atta

During the Navratri, buckwheat flour, also known as kuttu atta, is used because it is high in fiber. These flours are obviously utilized for fasting because of their high fiber content. The fibers help a person stay satisfied for a longer period of time and stave off hunger symptoms. These taste identical to conventional atta and may be used to make delectable pooris and parathas.

Rajgira ka atta

Rajgira atta, also known as amaranth flour, is another delectable and healthful option to ordinary wheat flour.

This has a high protein content, is gluten-free, and tastes exactly like regular flour.

Sago or sabudana

Sabudana is a preferred food for persons who observe fasts. It keeps the person satisfied for a longer period of time. This starchy food is also packed with a variety of nutrients.

Digestion is also said to be aided by it.

Makhana or foxnut

Everyone like ghee-drizzled, slightly toasted makhanas. Makhana, which is rich in antioxidants, is not only a festive favorite but also a tasty snack food. Makhanas should be used in place of all processed chips in a bowl.

It is said that the nutritious components included in makhana aid in decreasing cholesterol, supporting heart health, and delaying the onset of old age.

Seasonal fruits and vegetables

Try to eat as many seasonal fruits and vegetables as you can while the Sharad Navratri is still in progress. During this time of year, it is typical to find a pumpkin, sweet potatoes, colocasia, yams, raw plantains, raw papayas, bottle gourds, bananas, carrots, and apples among the abundance of other fruits and vegetables.

Eating foods that are cultivated seasonally has a number of benefits. These foods already have ideal growing circumstances, so they don’t need an external boost in the form of fertilizer and pesticides to flourish.

Singhara atta

Without mentioning singhara atta, no discussion on puja cuisine would be complete. Singhara atta is a great supply of carbohydrates and nutrients that increase energy. It is also a strong source of antioxidants, making it an ideal food for people who are fasting.

The fact that singhara atta is simple to prepare and has a pleasant flavor is an additional benefit.

Dry fruits

People are instructed to eat dry fruits during fasting. A small number of soaked almonds, dates, cashew nuts and walnuts are nutrient-dense and filling enough to keep a person satisfied for an extended period of time.

Otherwise, experts advise daily consumption of dry fruits. These foods are nutrient-dense and high in calcium, potassium, iron, folate, and other nutrients.
